Choosing the right tires means moving forward with the right benchmarks.
For more than 25 years, Tires & Co has been helping drivers make a choice that deserves more than a simple ranking by price. Our expertise is based on an in-depth knowledge of tires, vehicles and the conditions in which they are actually used.

In Canada, long distances, severe cold, snow, ice and strong seasonal variations mean that you have to choose according to the province and the actual routes. The right choice therefore depends on your daily life: vehicle, approved size, mileage, type of road, load transported and seasonality.
Our role is to transform sometimes complex characteristics into simple, useful and reliable information. A premium brand may be relevant for its longevity, braking or precision, but the best reference is the one that corresponds to your use and your priorities.
"We drive for you" means selecting with high standards, comparing with transparency and explaining without unnecessary jargon, to help you make a safe, consistent and sustainable choice.

Summer, Winter or 4-Season Tires
A range of car tires must meet very different uses: small cars used in the city, long-distance saloons, family SUVs, loaded vans or sports vehicles. Start by checking the approved size of your vehicle, then consider your priorities: wet braking, quietness, endurance, driving precision, traction or fuel efficiency.

The choice between summer, winter and 4-season tires also depends on the climate of your region, your travels, the terrain and your mileage. Summer tires are suitable for mild and warm temperatures. Winter tires retain more flexibility when temperatures drop and respond better to cold, wet or snowy conditions. 4-season tires are a versatile solution for drivers facing moderate winters and wanting to keep the same equipment year-round.
Also take into account the obligations specific to your province, particularly Quebec, as well as the winter conditions actually encountered. Tires & Co helps you move from a very wide catalog to a relevant selection, adapted to your vehicle, your driving and your journeys.

Our technical advice translates tire data into useful decisions. They explain what the season, the type of vehicle, the load, the mileage or the nature of the roads change. The objective is not to multiply specialized terms, but to allow you to understand a compromise and avoid a purchase chosen solely on a promotion or a brand habit.
Each tire has a marking made up of numbers and letters that indicates its main technical characteristics.
Let us take the following example: 205/55 R16 91V
- 205 is the width of the tire in millimetres.
- 55 indicates the sidewall height, expressed as a percentage of the width. In this example, the calculation is : 205 x 0,55 = 112,75 mm. The sidewall is therefore approximately 113 mm high.
- R means that the tire has a radial construction.
- 16 is the diameter of the wheel rim, expressed in inches.
- 91 is the load index. In this example, it corresponds to a maximum load of 615 kg per tire.
- V is the speed rating. In this example, it indicates a maximum approved speed of 240 km/h.
The load and speed ratings must comply with the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations. See our guide to load and speed ratings to understand what they mean.
Where can you find your tire size?
The size is marked directly on the sidewall of the tire. The easiest option is often to read the marking directly from the tire.
Check the front and rear tire sizes
On some vehicles, particularly sports cars, powerful vehicles or vehicles fitted with different rim widths, the front and rear tires may have different sizes.
For example:
- Front : 225/40 R18 92Y
- Rear : 255/35 R18 94Y
Before ordering your tires, always check all four tires on the vehicle to ensure that you order the correct sizes.
Tires & Co's advice
Since 2001, our experts have helped hundreds of thousands of motorists each year to choose their tires. If you are unsure between several sizes or if your vehicle has different tire sizes at the front and rear, we are here to help you choose fully compatible tires.
Load and speed ratings are not administrative details. They indicate what the tire can handle and the performance range for which it is designed. Complying with the manufacturer's recommendations protects the vehicle's behaviour, its stability and the consistency of the driver assistance systems, particularly on heavy, loaded or powerful vehicles.
For winter, don't stop at the word snow alone. The cold changes the flexibility of the rubber and the behaviour on wet, icy or cold roads. Check the markings, the regulations applicable to your journeys and the conditions actually encountered. A well-chosen winter tire must remain consistent with your vehicle and your mileage, not just with a date on the calendar.
Changing your tires at the right time means monitoring the depth of the treads, age, cracks, deformations and irregular wear. A vibration, repeated loss of pressure or unusual behaviour also deserves to be controlled. We help you distinguish between normal maintenance and a replacement that has become necessary, without waiting for the tire to be visibly in poor condition.
Our tips help you recognize the right time to replace your tires and keep driving with confidence.
Electric vehicles are transforming driving habits and tire requirements. At Tires & Co, we are developing our expertise to support these new forms of mobility with a selection of tires for electric vehicles, expert advice and information adapted to their specificities: range, quiet ride, grip, vehicle weight and wear resistance. Some ranges are designed to limit rolling resistance, support load and control noise without compromising grip. The right choice remains linked to the vehicle, the approved size and your journeys.
Because technologies evolve, our commitment remains the same: to help you choose the tires best suited to your vehicle and your use.
Steps to change your tires easily.
Ordering your tires on Tires & Co is simple, in 4 steps:
